Infineon and ADVANTICS Collaborate to Advance High-Power SiC Solutions for Megawatt Charging and Energy Infrastructure

Jul 09,2026

Infineon Technologies AG has entered into a collaboration with ADVANTICS, a technology leader specializing in silicon carbide (SiC) power electronics and advanced control systems, to supply its CoolSiC™ 1200 V MOSFETs together with the dual-channel EiceDRIVER™ 2EDB9259Y gate driver for ADVANTICS' latest liquid-cooled power converter platform. The combined solution is designed to improve efficiency, power density, and reliability for demanding applications such as megawatt charging systems (MCS) for heavy-duty vehicles and marine vessels, energy storage systems for data centers, and DC microgrids. This partnership addresses the growing need for faster charging, stronger power infrastructure, and more efficient energy conversion technologies.

The electrification of heavy transportation and marine applications has the potential to significantly reduce global carbon emissions. However, conventional charging infrastructure often cannot provide the charging speed required for large commercial vehicles with high-capacity batteries. Megawatt Charging Systems overcome this limitation by delivering charging speeds that are nearly ten times faster than traditional solutions, helping accelerate the adoption of electric trucks, mining equipment, and marine vessels. Through their collaboration, Infineon and ADVANTICS are advancing MCS technology, supporting the decarbonization of industries that have traditionally been among the most difficult to electrify.

"Our collaboration with ADVANTICS is helping accelerate the deployment of megawatt charging infrastructure," said Rodrigo Marquina, Application Manager for Power Supplies and EV Charging at Infineon Technologies. "Our semiconductor solutions enable more compact and energy-efficient power conversion systems, supporting the next generation of electric transportation."

"Silicon carbide has clearly established itself as the future of high-power conversion," said Anders Mikkelsen, Co-founder and R&D Director at ADVANTICS. "After nearly a decade of developing SiC-based power converters, we have greater confidence in this technology than ever before. Infineon has been a valuable partner throughout this journey, and we are excited to continue working together to accelerate the transition toward a more sustainable future."

ADVANTICS' liquid-cooled power conversion platform is built around modular 100 kW building blocks, allowing systems to scale up to megawatt-level power. Designed for bidirectional operation, the platform supports a wide voltage range of up to 1,500 V while achieving peak efficiencies of up to 98.5%. Its flexible architecture enables seamless integration with electrical grids, battery energy storage systems, and high-power charging infrastructure. These capabilities make the platform well suited for demanding applications in heavy transportation, marine electrification, and grid-connected energy systems, while ensuring reliable and highly efficient power conversion.

Through continued technological innovation and close collaboration, Infineon and ADVANTICS are contributing to the development of more efficient, scalable, and sustainable energy infrastructure, supporting the global transition toward cleaner electrification and next-generation power systems.
